Think about Cypress Hill - they only (I mean only - really, try to find an exception) rapped about marijuana and guns, but were still hella entertaining. Now you have Young Dro, who pretty much only raps about the different cars he has and what color they are but manages to be entertaining while doing it. This song is like that, except it sucks. Gucci Mane is supposedly (I haven't listened much, and don't really hear it here) pretty good. Plus he has an iced-out Bart Simpson chain, so he really can't be all bad. Soulja Boy, though, has no redeeming qualities.
To make it worse, this rips off that Swizz Beats song from a few months ago. The hook was something like, "Take your Gucci rag out and swing it 'round in the air/Take your Louis rag out and swing it 'round in the air". Apparently what we have is a sub-genre of songs about name-brand bandannas.

That makes a whole gang of sense, especially placing SouljaBoyTellEm in the context of the Swizz Beats song. Thank you for preventing me spiraling into psychosis.

What do you think Veblen would've written about SouljaBoyTellEm's masterpiece?

Re: Gucci Mane, I actually downloaded his newest record, Murder Was the Case (no joke), shortly after hearing him on this song. I plan to post in full on this spectacular, exuberant, completely boneheaded record, but suffice it to say that song titles include "Shittin' Onnum," "Yella Diamonds," "Murder for Fun," and "Cuttin' Off Fingahz." And yes, I'm bumping it at work right now.
